Helpful How-To's

With the ever-changing technology in today's society, students are offered a multitude of educational opportunities and experiences that we would have never dreamed of as a child. Because of this, navigating these options can sometimes be confusing both parents and students. Below is a list of some of these technology-related options that your child may need to utilize and information on how to use each one.

Clever How-To

clever

Clever is a web-based portal that RCPS utilizes to provide multiple online links and programs on the internet for students. To login, follow the steps below.

Step 1:

Click on the Clever icon above or from the RCPS website under the Students tab.

Step 2:

Search for Crystal Spring Elementary School in the Search for your School box.

Step 3:

Choose Log in with LDAP option.

Step 4:

Enter your username and password.

Each student has their own specific login, which should be memorized within the first week or two of each school year. However, if they are having trouble, the mnemonic used to create their account is below. The username is created using a student's first name initial, the first four letters of their last name, and the last three numbers of their student ID number. The password is simply their full student ID number. As an example, a student named Jason Bradford with an ID number of 123456 would use the following credentials to login.

Example Clever Login

Username: jbrad456
Password: 123456

*Please Note - If a student's last name is less than four letters, they will only use all of the letters in their last name. For example, Jane Doe with an ID of 123456 would only be jdoe456.
